Schneider Electric SE has announced that it will use “solutions that will help accelerate the transition to a low carbon economy” in an effort to support the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The company’s stated goal is to be complete carbon neutral by 2030. Schneider Electric is a multinational company that specializes in power management and automation solutions. The company has a presence in over 100 companies and is headquartered in Rueil-Malmaison, France.
Schneider Electric’s corporate environmental goals also including completely switching to renewable energy, using 100% recyclable packaging by 2030. Schneider Electric’s Senior Vice President of Sustainability, Gilles Vermot Desroches stated: “The climate emergency is growing, and new players are emerging to tackle the issue. The Paris Agreement signed three years ago provides us with a much clearer understanding of what is at stake. We’re now at a tipping point in limiting global warming to less than 2°C above pre-industrial levels to avoid a major ecological disaster.”
