The following is the latest book review of “FUELING AMERICA, An Insider’s Journey” by Jack Kerfoot on Amazon.com
The book is enjoyable to read and very informative. It gives a good explanation of the evolution and history of types of energy and its usage. Most of us haven’t thought much about it. We just take it for granted that the lights come on when we move the switch. I had no idea of the complexity involved in the search for oil and natural gas. Kerfoot tells fascinating stories of what is really involved. It is not a simple or inexpensive process. While this memoir is interesting and informative to anyone it will also be of great interest to anyone who is or has been involved with the oil industry. Kerfoot’s accounts of his life’s work is both informative and entertaining. The book also reveals some of the incompetence of some professionals involved in the search and production of oil and natural gas. The final chapter explains and summarizes the various types of energy in use and makes the case for moving to renewable energy sources as soon as possible. Time is running out.
