The Republic of India’s government has announced plans to conduct a tender for a solar park in the northern region of the country. The solar park will have 25,000 MW capacity and will be located in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir.
In 2015, India’s government announced the goal of increasing the country’s renewable power capacity to 175,000 MW by 2022. To achieve this ambitious goal, the government committed to the develop 100,000 MW capacity in solar energy, 60,000 MW capacity in wind energy, 10,000 MW in biofuels and 5,000 MW in hydropower.
In my opinion, India is on schedule to meet their ambitious renewable energy goals.
