Wave Energy – Indonesia

Gapura Energi Utama (GEU), an Indonesian company has ordered mechanical wave energy converter units for a hydrokinetic energy park at Nusa Penida Island, southeast of the island of Bali. Finnish company, Wello Oy will provide the wave energy converters (WEC), which will provide 10 MW of power at the hydrokinetic energy park.

We are starting to see more mechanical wave energy projects pilot projects around the world. In my opinion, mechanical wave energy has potential for countries with significant coast lines, such as Australia, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Scotland, and Hawaii.
