The Geothermal Resources Council and the Geothermal Energy Association will combine their respective organizations. The new organization will retain the name of the Geothermal Resources Council (GRC) and be headquartered in David, California. The new GRC organization will focus on advancing the science, education and development of geothermal energy resources. The GRC will form a Policy Committee which will focus on educating and lobbying leaders at state and federal levels to expand their knowledge about the geothermal industry.
In my opinion, states of Nevada, Oregon, Idaho and California have significant untapped geothermal potential. Harnessing geothermal energy can accelerate the move from fossil fuel to renewable, green energy. I can only hope the governors of these states take a proactive position on renewable energy, like geothermal energy.
